- Chant and be happy!!! Practice yoga, take a bubble bath and eat chocolate cake... I think they all lead to the same place :)
I love to kiss my daughter and hug our dog, twirl until I fall over, lip sync opera and dance a mean "samba no pe" while I brush my teeth, watch insects closely, drive around aimlessly, scribble with crayons, read in bed and tell my daughter stories, play puzzles on the floor and play games of memory (which I never win) while she DJs classic rock and kirtan on the iPod. Life is great!
I am the tragic Queen of Parking Ticket Land, drink loads of Diet Coke, pray with japa beads while twirling my hair, catch myself hammering nails in the wall really late at night, listen to songs on repeat, have a fear of frogs (except for the ones that turn into princes), pop bubble wrap, jump on the bed, look for shapes in cottage cheese ceilings, eat M & Ms in rainbow order, wash my hands a lot, really like skulls and chains and anything that sparkles, wear lots of black and live in jeans, painted myself blue to feel like a Smurf, still eat Apple Jacks, play in the rain, love churrasco and pao de queijo, graffiti myself with henna, dream about sharks and Popeye and the Octopus, can bend like a pretzel, cringe at my own photos, don't like pine nuts, love mermaids and have never once doubted their existence.
I sound like a little girl on the phone, like to sew, will swing from a trapeze until gravity takes over, love calligraphy - especially East Asian and Middle Eastern, traveling the world, cooking, neatly folded laundry, exquisite Persian rugs, butterflies, fairies, brand new notebooks, fine-tip pens, old cars, fast cars, new cars, fancy cars, yoga, contortion, theatrical makeup, runway makeup, pink wigs, purple wigs, blue wigs, but not those rainbow clown wigs, peonies, tulips, orchids, snap dragons, vintage couture, very large enclosed spaces, circus side shows, two-headed turtles, carnival oddities and wish that everyday was Halloween.
Self-mastery, trick-or-treating and meditation are the gateways to communal healing, one costumed Soul at a time.
