- Tell us something about yourself:
- I am an ethical vegan pacifist. My parents were union labor organizers, so I grew up going Down South to peacefully "fight" for equal rights for all beings, and subsequently got involved in the Civil Rights Movement. I was/am a war protester. I have practiced civil disobedience (but not during the years I was bringing up my one PLANNED child [purposefully as a single parent], gently born at home, unschooled). I rescue all types of living beings, not just the typical dogs and cats (although I do TNR, which means trap, neuter, return). I fully support humane education about all sentient beings. I do not eat or use my animal friends, nor do I consume or wear or use anything made with any part of any non-human being. I do not purchase products that have been animal-tested. I am an atheist.

- Favorite of all time.... 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- Music:
- BESIDES The Beatles?!?!? Okay, jazz (both bebop and big band, in particular); rock (especially mid- to late-60s through all of the 70s); the Motown Sound; the Detroit Sound; folk (i.e., topical, folk-rock); bluegrass; world music; black gospel; blues; Italian opera; country (but not very much country-western); baroque... ridiculously eclectic tastes. I can't list favorite groups, bands, musicians, songwriters -- WAYyyyyyy too many. [Oh, I was at Woodstock.]
- Who has influenced or inspired you?
- My extraordinary radical, pacifist, activist parents, who risked their lives to save others'. Rosa Parks. The Little Rock children. Most firefighters. GOOD teachers (far and few between). Minoo Rahbar. Bobby Rock. Jordana Capra. Anyone who rescues animals (but doesn't take any to so-called "shelters"). César Chávez. Martin Luther King Jr. Adlai Stevenson. Eleanor Roosevelt. Goodman, Schwerner and Cheney. Margaret Sanger. Lucienne Bloch. The Ruether brothers. Sandy and Dorothy Cutler. Diego Rivera. Frida Kahlo. The Kennedy family. Jimmy Carter (post-presidency). Draft dodgers (and their parents). Jack Kevorkian. The Underground Railroad people. Oskar Schindler. The Three Doctors.
