Global One TV: A Blog for Mystics - by Eric Allen Bell

Inward Revolution Creates Outward Revolution

Finally, a definition of globalization that one can understand and to which we now can relate:

Question:

What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer:

Tragically, Princess Diana’s death.

Question:

Why?

Answer:

An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whiskey,

followed closely by Italian paparazzi on Japanese motorcycles;

treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by an American, using Bill Gate’s technology and you are probably reading this on your computer,

that uses Taiwanese chips and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant; transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen and trucked to you by illegal Mexican workers…

And that is what Globalization is.

Can you believe the comments on this very funny article? Good lord people, get a sense of humor. The world is coming to an end soon and we are all going to die, so let's laugh now, o.k.?

"Remote tribes" are certainly not a large percentage of those who live in Africa. Saying things like that perpetuates the Western myth that Africa is a vast wasteland that cannot be helped, and is not appreciated.

Eric: you said "a large percentage of Africans do not even know that they live in Africa." What on earth are you talking about?

Jake: "Princess of Wales" is a title that dates back at least to the time of King Henry VIII. Wales at the time was a province of the English empire, and the royal heir to the throne was known as Prince (or Princess) of Wales. Henry's older brother, Arthur, was Prince of Wales during their childhood; Henry's daughter Mary was the first of his children to be Princess of Wales. Then when Elizabeth was born, she was named the Princess of Wales and Mary was declared to be a bastard. A few years later, Henry's only son Edward was named the Prince of Wales, and both of his sisters were called bastards. After Henry's death, Edward succeeded the throne (after a nine-day reign by Lady Jane Gray).

So even though now Wales and England are separate countries, they weren't back when the title actually meant something.

Can you tell I'm a history nerd? :)

To Mr. Schmee I say: Your version including the Somali Pirates was clever and could very well be a great addition the "joke". To all of schmee's critics, you'd be surprised how many people there are that truly don't consider Egypt an "African Nation," per se.
To Kyle I say: You had great justification as to why you called out Schmee there
To Eric I say: See Ferd's post.
To Jake I say: Cool story, bro.
And to Fred I say: Thanks for clearing up any confusion, bravo.

And lastly, I wanted to say that as a student of Globalization, this is the first ever "joke" I've heard about the global system and this shlt is extremely funny ...I thoroughly enjoyed it HahHAhAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The post is great, it is dead on. Kyle, thank you for reminding us about Egypt. Ultimately, we all came from Africa, and everyone needs to know more about our world.

Is America among the 'most educated' nations? What does that mean? If you pick literacy, we don't make the top ten (http://www.einfopedia.com/highest-literacy-rate-most-educated-count...). If you pick 'college graduates' for 'most educated', then we are in third: According to a National Center for Education Statistics report, the Russian Federation has the highest proportion (55%) of adult population (between 25 and 64) with a higher education degree. The second is Canada with 45%, then the U.S. with 39%. By that narrow definition, we are among the 'most educated', but clearly we should not be behind Russia, with it's notoriously corrupt system.

Germany exports the most, with a combined export value of roughly $1.5 trillion USD. China comes next, with a combined export value of about $1.45 trillion USD. The United States comes in third, exporting $1.4 trillion USD.

For foreign aid, the USA is far down the list, in place #19, according to http://www.globalissues.org/article/35/foreign-aid-development-assi...

America the Great... and almost the Greatest!

just like to say, her being Diana princess of Wales, she was a welsh princess, not an English princess.

Actually, Americans are among the most educated people in the world. I know it's become fashionable to bash us though. But this country exports more goods and contributes more to the world in economic aid than any other. We have our faults like everyone else.

You mention Africa and yet a large percentage of Africans do not even know that they live in Africa. So take it easy.

I guess not. But everyone gives Americans crap for not knowing their geography, so I thought a lesson was in order

What is Spirtuality? 15 Replies

What would you consider spirituality? Is it a sense of self, or perhaps its a sense of our surroundings? I have no opinion in this, I would just like to hear your answers of what you consider to be spirituality.Continue

Your Own Personal Jesus 74 Replies

Anything a person says about the true intentions of Jesus are pure speculation. He never wrote anything down. NONE of us have any idea what he actually said, what he meant. You can make Jesus into absolutely ANYTHING you want to believe him to be. But that does not make it true. More people have died in his name than any other.…Continue

Inside of All Things There Is a Stillness 2 Replies

Up until fairly recently, I went through most of my life thinking about what I thought the world owed me and what I could get from it. Then a transformation began, one which is very much still playing out - evolving, and I experienced something of a shift in perspective.Without giving it much thought, my natural inclination has been to consider what I owe the world and what I can give it - as it has given me everything and always does.…Continue

Wishful Thinking: A Cheap Alternative to Inquiry 37 Replies

The newer popular alternatives to religion, that come in the form of new age spirituality such as "The Secret" are just as loony as the promise of heaven for the believer, and a lake of hellfire for the nonbeliever. This ever so intoxicating form of delusion is simply more escapism - a new belief system to impose upon reality, in order to avoid true, honest and courageous self inquiry. In this form of wishful thinking the egoic mind is "meant" to have whatever it visualizes and this gets…Continue

The Head, the Heart and What it Means to See 16 Replies

If a book guides you, my feeling is that such a book would not be as reliable a guide as love. Best to follow the heart, even foolishly at times, if one is to be a real human being. My heart tells me that the world is in a desperate state of crisis right now. I feel driven to stand up and do my part to try to lead where I can, and to reduce suffering where I can, and to never lose sight of the reality that it's not really me who is doing any of it. The human experience is but a fraction of who…Continue
